This is always amazing to us because we have seen lots of people and companies come and go of the last 25 odd years and the ones that normally end up it the shit heap are the ones that promise the unbelievable . It’s the same old story “if it sounds too good to be true” that’s normally because it’s a fantasy .

One of the main things you need to watch for is the way some people tell there customers that it’s an all up cost ! You know the adds shipping from LA to Australia for $2000 all up !!! Yeah and that’s exactly what you get the shipping , NO packing or wharf charges ,NO documentation fees ,NO haulage costs ,NOT to mention customs clearence and quarintine charges at this end .

The other thing customers don’t get the correct information about is import approvals and what is legal and what’s not , Because there are containers full of items coming in everyday that should never be shipped and sooner or later Australian Customs and the Government is going to put the foot down and there will be a lot of unknowning people caught out .

If you had to choose which would be your ride Indian or Harley Davidson ?  Well even though we import both its hard to make the choice for many  . But what I have noticed in more recent times are the people who have either never owned a motorcycle before or if they have its been something like the typical japanese roady are now making the change  . Now don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong with being the owner of one of those Japanese roadies. But when they do make the change to the American V twins some get more than a bit of culture shock !  Most of them don’t realize that the average US iron needs a little more patience than there oriental counterparts . So if you are about to become or have recently become the parent of a piece of American history just remember they are a bit heavier ,longer,lower and they sometimes tend to mark there territory with the occasional oil stain .  Don’t panic , keeping them maintained , modifying and fussing over them is all part of being an owner along with getting out on the black top every chance you get .

I know this has nothing to do with the vehicle imports but what the hell !!    In November the A to Z Imports team headed off to Las Vegas to the SEMA convention .  For those who have not heard of it before its one of the biggest automotive conventions in the world and its held in Las Vegas every year and covers pretty much the complete auto industry from new products to custom vehicles . Needless to say we didn’t spend the whole time in the convention centre ! One of the must go places is Fremont street which is part of the old area of Vegas that some people don’t even go near , in the picture you can see the over head light show which is on several times a night . The only down side to this trip is coming back to work !!!

So when you next consider buying a motorcycle ,car or truck from overseas don’t take advice from the people on Ebay selling you that super cheap chopper kit or the US car dealer who knows someone that’s done it before ! Get in touch with companies that do this sort of thing full time and not as a hobby , Also don’t fall for that yeah that’s all it cost line and then find out there’s all those extra cost once you item gets here .  So if it sounds to good to be true ?? It probably is !!!

This is where my eldest Son and business partner gets to show off  some of his trade skills ! Even though he spends most of his time these days converting  late model cars and trucks he still likes to let everyone know that he’s more than a little handy with a spray gun .   We carried out a full conversion on this car and did then the paint work! Know it almost ready to go home to its owner for its re-assembly

Today we delivered this stunning looking car to its owner after finishing the left to right steering conversion !  For a while  it looked as if Mustang had lost the plot and where turning out some pretty ordinary cars !! But with the introduction of this latest generation in 05 they have regained that muscle car look .    A  to Z  Imports has RAWS approval to import and comply 05-current  Mustangs so if you can see yourself  in either one of these sweet looking convertibles or a high performance  hard top is more your  style then give us a call and we will do our best to help out !

This week we had this super neat 1957 Ford Thunderbird , Its not very often you get to see cars of this standard !    It came from Detroit and used to belong to one of the executives from Ford .      It’s good to see that there are still some good early model vehicles coming ino the country !    Unfortunately with so many want to be expert car importers out there  now we get to see a lot of vehicles from the other end of the scale .    So if you decide its time for you to buy your dream car or motorcycle make sure you deal with people who have some real experience in the industry and can tell the difference between a 100 point vehicle and  one  that has had cheap and nasty one day paint job !!

Yesterday we unloaded this 2000 model Indian Chief !  And it started attracting attention the minute we got it to the shop .  We are using this first one as a test vehicle so that we can make sure it meets all the ADR  requirements . Once we have  all that taken care of  it will have a Australian compliance plate fitted by us  and will be able to be registered and used  in any state of  Australia . So if you can see yourself cruzin the highways on one of these or would just like to know more about them just send us an email or give us a call .
